Sound Damping – Why Should I Upgrade and How Much Do I Need?

Whether you are plowing through mud, river crossings, or climbing mountains, heat and vibration can become serious issues in off-road vehicles. Stinger Roadkill is a great solution for off-road vehicle insulation and an easy way to thermally insulate 4X4s as well quieting down your vehicle interior.

We’ve all been there, you’ve just climbed the peak of a track and your engine and transmission tunnel is super hot causing the interior to get toasty. Off-roading puts extra strain on your vehicle causing increased engine, exhaust, and transmission heat. This coupled with the solar radiation from the sun on the roof means your interior can become an oven.

By installing Stinger Roadkill, you can improve your cabin temperatures reducing unwanted heat and even cold. Got unwanted rattles, noises, and annoying vibrations? Stinger Roadkill can reduce this noise from trim panels and panels (sorry we can’t help complaining passengers) by ‘mass-loading’ the area making it stiffer.

One question we hear a lot… “It’s extra weight, I don’t need sound dampening and insulation”. Every vehicle has some sort of dampening from the factory. However, Stinger Roadkill’s job is to improve this and make the trip quieter and better insulated from the heat and cold. Something every 4×4 owner wants. This outweighs (no pun intended) the added minimal weight from Stinger Roadkill by far.

Got a 4×4 with a removable roof? Say a 4 Runner or Wrangler? The fiberglass OEM removable roof has next to no sound damping meaning the vibration and heat transferred through is quite a lot.

Roof Top Tent Owners, did you know you can even use stinger roadkill insulation on the hard floor of your rooftop tent to help with insulation?

  • Transmission Tunnels
  • Firewalls
  • Between Roof lining and roof
  • Removable roofs and fiberglass tops

Stinger Roadkill gives you:

  • Reduced Road / Gravel Noise
  • Improved Aircon / Heater efficiency
  • Reduced interior rattles
  • Improved Audio Performance
